Abstract: The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of adding protease enzyme to the diet on the growth performance and feed utilization efficiency of striped catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus). The experiment was carried out in a recirculating system with 3 dietary treatments, fish initial weight 50g for 8 weeks. The control diet treatments contained 28% protein (CP), the second diet treatments contained the same protein level as the control was supplemented with protease (28%CP+enzyme), and the third its protein content was reduced to 26.0% CP supplemented protease (26%CP + enzyme). The results showed that fish growth rate of the treatment 28%CP + enzyme was the highest and significantly different from the control and 26%CP+ enzyme treatments. FCR did not have a difference between treatments, but the best protein utilization efficiency (PER) was 26%CP+ enzyme treatment. The activities of the digestive enzymes trypsin and chymotrypsin with protease dietary significantly increased compared with the control treatment.
