"Factors affecting public speaking skills of High-quality Program English Studies students at Can Tho University "

Abstract

Public speaking is a type of communication that is used to transmit ideas, concepts, and information. It is now included in the majority of college and university curriculum. However, genuine public speaking, particularly in English, might be difficult for a substantial majority of students. As a result, the study "Factors affecting public speaking skills of High-quality Program English Studies students at Can Tho University" was carried out in order to find out the difficulties that students experienced when students conducting public speaking. The subjects of this study were 100 Can Tho University students majoring in English Studies (high-quality program). Questionnaires were utilized to collect data during the study. According to the research findings, students majoring in English Studies (high-quality program) at Can Tho University confronted psychological and linguistic challenges such as vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation, preparation, ideas and information, motivational, and practical factors. All of these factors have a strong impact on students' public speaking skills.
