Impact of information and communication technologies index on profitability of commercial banks in Vietnam

Abstract

In recent decades, the banking industry has experienced a remarkable growth in both size and scope, asserting its dominance across various sectors of national economies. The research findings indicate that the profitability of commercial banks in Vietnam is influenced by both the technological factors measured by the Vietnam ICT Index and the specific characteristics of the banks themselves. In light of the assessment of the current situation in Vietnamese commercial banks, the study provides recommendations and promote the application of ICT in the sector.
