BOOK RECOMMENDATION SYSTEM

Abstract

As the times develop, more and more people use technological devices to replace daily tasks or commonly found items for convenience, especially books. In addition, nowadays people often learn the content of the book in advance or only read books that are highly rated and praised by many people. This helps save reading time if you accidentally read a book you don't like. In addition, books are divided into many genres and many authors, almost people often find and read books in the genre they like, because of quickly and conveniently. They often go to book websites or recommend books website to more easily search for books according to your interests. From these issues, I chose as my thesis topic 'Book recommendation system'. This system is a website that suggests books from reader’s own reviews or recommends the most searched books to readers, with the hope of helping people find the books they like in an easy way, convenient and saving search time. The system is built with basic main functions such as: View book information and rate and review books for other people. In addition, readers can also see the most recently updated books to learn and read more quickly. The system is developed using the PHP programming language combined with MySQL as a library. The system has been tested and works relatively well, the built-in functions also work as expected and required. Although there are still many limitations and do not have many outstanding features, they can still be put into operation.
