dc.description.abstractSome fractions from the leaves of male Carica papaya L. were screened for cytotoxic activity against various cancer cell lines, such as lung cancer cells (A549), liver cancer cells (Hep3B) and breast cancer cells (MCF-7). All the tested fractions showed cytotoxic activity on these cancer cell lines. Of them, the M/C fractions exhibited the highest cytotoxicity, showing cytotoxic activity on all the Hep3B, MCF-7 cell lines with a survival cell percentage of 15.49 ± 1.65%; 27.33 ± 2.49% at 100 pg/mL and 45.18 ± 2.62%; 44.64 ± 2.21% at 30 pg/mL, respectively In addition, tetratriacontanyl palmitate (1), 1-hentriacontanol (2) were isolated from the chloroform leaf extracts of male Carica papaya L structually confirmed by NMR, MS.vi_VN
