Abstract: Applying knowledge into practice is a component of biological competency in the new general curriculum. The formation, development and assessment of the competency of applying knowledge into practice are the task of the biological teacher when teaching the new general curriculum. In this article, based on the research on definition of competency, the structure of competency of applying knowledge into practice, authors propose the process and measures to assess the competency of applying knowledge into practice of students and application of the process in teaching microbiology (Biology 10).
