Abstract: A reverse phase HPLC method was developed for quantification of verbascoside in herbal materials and raw extracts of Jasminum subtriplinerve Blume. For injection samples, herbal materials were untrasonically extracted with MeOH 60 % and extract products with MeOH 70% for 15 minutes at 40°C. The HPLC analysis was performed on Zorbax Eclipse XDB C18 column (150x4.6 mm, 5 pm) with a PDA detector (330 nm), the mobile phase was thfluoroacetic acid 0.01% in acetonitril and 0.01% thfluoroacetic acid in water in gradient mode of elution, the flow rate was constant at 0.5 ml/min. The method was validated to have satisfied linearity in the range of 2.5 - 500 pg/ml (correlation coefficient > 0.999). Intra-day and inter-day precision tests showed the RSD% <2% and desirable accuracy (recovery - 99.1 = 100.7%). On practical application, herbal matehals collected in 12 months from plants grown in different areas of Quang Tri province and some plant extraction products therefrom were analysed by the developed HPLC.
