Anti-thrombotic effect of the saponin-rich extracts from Panax stipuleanatus (H. T. Tsai & K. M. Feng) (collected in Hoang Su Phi, Ha Giang province) was investigated by the mouse-tail thrombosis model. Thrombosis was induced by K-carrageenan (20 mg/kg b.w, intraperitoneal injection), the anti-thrombosis effect was obsen/ed for evaluation later, 24 hrs after injection. Both aspirin 20 mg/kg (oral administration) and heparin 100 UI/mL (intraperitoneal injection) decreased the percentage of tail thrombosis in mice. The plant saponin-rich extracts were tested at the dose range of 30 mg/kg - 60 mg/kg - 90 mg/kg - 120 mg/kg. After 7 days administration, the saponin-enrich extracts of Panax stipuleanatus H. T. Tsai & K. M. Feng inhibited significant anti-thrombosis activity at the initial dose of 30 mg/kg (equivalent to 154 mg dry plant/kg b.w.).vi_VN
