dc.description.abstractRod-like MgO was prepared by the simple precipitation method and subsequenitly evaluated for CO₂ capture efficiency under ambient-tempcrature adsorption and intermediate-temperature regeneration. The MgO precursor was analyzed by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and X-ray power diffraction (XRD), it was decomposed completely at 500 °C to form MgO. The as-synthesized MgO samples were characterized by XRD, BET and PE-SEM. The MgO samples were comprised of grains with an approximate length of 4-6 µm and diameter of 0.5 µm. The BET surface area of MgO was 330.5 m²/g, which was much higher than that of commercial MgO (CM-MgO, 103.2 m²/g). The CO₂ uptake on MgO samples were evaluated by TGA. As-synthesized MzO had the high CO₂ sorption capacity compared to CM-MgO. The effect of temperature on CO₂ sorption capacity was also investigated. In addition, the stability of sample was evaluated by cyclic experiment.vi_VN
