Abstract: This study investigates the perceptions between Vietnamese and foreigners about cultural differences through communication styles in the workplace. A mixed methods design was used, with 30 participants responding to a questionnaire consisting of a five-point Likert scale, open-ended, and multiple choice questions for quantitative data. In addition, a structured interview was also collected for qualitative data. The results show that in general, participants from different cultures have quite similar perceptions of culture as well as communication styles in the workplace. They perceive four cultural dimensions including punctuality, group work, decision-making, and behavior as being the same and being able to accept and adapt to diverse cultures at multicultural workplaces. However, some participants expressed perceived differences in communication styles and workplace culture. This shows that there are still cultural differences that require understanding and experience for each individual when working in a multicultural environment.
